We measure the noise source, the existing height, and how the reverse face will read from the street. Garden-city character is easy to bruise with the wrong panel. Digswell and Welwyn village plots often want a longer, quieter closeboard run rather than acoustic boards they do not need.
Planning height still applies. A taller acoustic line beside a highway can need permission even when a rear garden closeboard would not. That conversation happens on survey, not after the timber is on site.
